Born in Evansville, Indiana but left as soon as I was able to hitchhike away.
High school was horrible. Got a B.A. in B.S. while multitasking to avoid Vietnam.
Several years in Colorado. High in the Rockies. Two frozen years in Montana and
then back to Bloomingon to raise the kids. For decades I was not quite a drone, more
of a slave for hire.
In 1985 I had a discussion with my sister at Thanksgiving about whether drawing was a
skill or a talent. I was of the position that some people had it and some people didn't
and I was one of the didn't. For Christmas that year my sister gave me a copy of Betty
Edward's book "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain." I worked my way through the
first exercise and when it looked like it was supposed to, I was hooked. I've never
stopped drawing and painting, and here is the result.
